In viewing CNN I was deeply disturbed at what I saw, not only from the countless images that have been televised around the world, but today was a particularly saddening day. The coverage was of Archbishop Joseph Miot who lost his life to the earthquake in Haiti. It made me ask myself, is his life more important than the estimated 111,000 lives that have been lost in Haiti? The resounding answer is NO. God is no respecter of persons and thus ALL lives are precious, and the fact that they would have an actual funeral ceremony for the Archbishop is just appalling to me. The 111,000 people who have died were gathered with the rubble with bulldozers, scooped up and dumped in pits that were made for their bodies. There is no account for who they are, who they are related to, and there will never be a proper burial for any of them. The fact that they would focus on this one man, and highlight him because he was an Archbishop with the Catholic church, is just amazing to me. There are Haitians whaling over the countless deaths of their loved one's, friends, children, parents, grandparents, etc., yet they are giving this one individual a "proper burial ceremony". Again, I ask the question, does God see his life more important than any other lives within Haiti, and again it is NO. What about the man who lost his pregnant wife under the rubble?, she died with an unborn child in her womb. What about the little girl who was rescued, only to die later because she did not get medical attention fast enough and her injuries were far to great to save her? What about the countless people who are at deaths door, because there is no medical attention getting to them quickly enough to save those lives, and so they die a slow painful death with no medicine to ease the pain? What of the many people who have lost their limbs and will most likely die to their infections? What of all the people left suffering for lack of everything they need to survive, yet have absolutely nothing to be able to? The devastation is unlike anything we have ever seen, and it will unfortunately get worse as the day's continue. What is also disturbing is Haitians themselves have gathered dressed in their best clothing they have at this time to pay respects to the Archbishop, which also let's me know that they too think his life is more valuable than theirs. Countless lives were lost and the Haitian Government has now called off all search and rescue, so anyone who may have had a chance of being found has just been given their death certificate. There are many people in Haiti besides the Archbishop that were missionaries and gave their lives to show the love of Christ and not only teach the gospel, but act upon it and take care of the brothers and sisters in the name of Christ, so why focus on this one man? I urge you to look to Matthew 24 and you will see that the Lord has clearly told us what to watch for and expect during these day's, and all of these events should be clear to those Christians who are abiding and keeping watchful. It is not over and has only begun, but we must stay vigilant on keeping our hearts, minds, souls and spirits towards our Lord who is to return, and not exalt earthly men. This also brings me to my next point: for those individuals Christian or not, for the words to be uttered that Haiti was judged by God because of their voodoo practices is ridiculous, because truth be said, this is practiced all over the world, yes including the U.S. and there is NO land that is righteous, No land without Sin, otherwise we would not have needed a savior.

It has been a week since the Haiti earthquake with many aftershocks, one as much as 6.0. It was a 5.6 that destroyed towns in China in 2008.

I am heartbroken at all of the devastation I see, all of the broken people and broken lives.
My concern is with all of the billions of dollars that Haiti has received, how does the money go to where it needs to go without an infrastructure in place?
One of the things that I pray for is that the money goes to help those who need it and that the money is used to help rebuild the poverty stricken nation of Haiti, and not just Port Au Prince, though they are the ones in dire need right now

Greetings in the mighty name of Jesus Christ!
It is unfortunate the Huge 7.0 earthquake that has struck Haiti where untold thousands have perished. As of today, the latest estimated count of the dead rose to 250, 000. That number of lost lives is unimaginable to me! 250,00 in a city of two million people! As I said that is an estimated number. The untold devastation of an already impoverished nation is a horrible thing. Haiti is the poorest country on the Western hemisphere. Matthew 24:7 says this:
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Isn't this what we are experiencing now??
the word "divers" simply means different. Earthquakes in different places where we wouldn't normally have tehma nd in magnitudes not seen before. There are pestilences. Look at rampant diseases that we have now. This new H1N1 virus is the latest one to crop up. Matthew 24:8 says that these are the beginning of sorrows! We need to strap ourselves in and build ourselves up in our most holy faith, for we do not see the rapture of the saints taking place until which is after the great tribulation Read it and understand for yourselves.
Please continue to pray for haiti.

I just wanted to post a quick note to remind someone who may be down right now, that God IS wonderful and marvelous to be praised! I know there are those of us who are suffering and going through hard times. No one may know comforting words to say to you in your time of need. That is why it is so important to know that while man may not know what to say, God can and will comfort us. He will send someone or people our way who can assist you. Just have faith. Just have hope. Just hold on. Whether emotional, mental, spiritual, or financial, God is able to meet all of our needs according to His riches in Glory. He is able and willing to pick us up, dust us off, and set us on the right way.
