I begin this particular page in sheer frustration at how so called "believers", are twisting the truth of the bible to justify the sin in their lives. They preach from the same bible(for the most part) that I do, and yet, they preach a different gospel. They preach a different Jesus than the one that the early disciples did, and blame it on the "times being different". What hogwash! If this is your view about any one point in scripture( ie homosexuality is not a sin)then you can do that with any point that you don't agree with!
People, we are not talking about just individuals in the church pews! We are talking about preachers in the pulpit, and whole denominations!
The question needs to be asked; If they are believers in Jesus Christ, and practicing, unrepentant homosexuals, promiscuous, adulterers, child molesters, murderers and the like, do they go to heaven? They claim to be Christians, have ministries, in charge of churches, dioceses, and yet their lifestyle is one so against what we see in scripture. How can we possibly think that such people are heaven bound?
1Co 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor abusers, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
There are some people(and you may be one of them)that believe that scripture such as this one, are not speaking to the believer, but the unbeliever. If you are an unbeliever, what more is there to say about getting into heaven? Do not think that as a believer you can do these things and it is ok? You are living in sin, you are condoning sinful lifestyles, and you are teaching others to do the same! How can you live a carnal, fleshly, material life, and think that you are about the Father's business? You will not inherit the kingdom of God! If you are married or single, and you habitually lust after people, and justify it by saying something like, "oh, I am human, so it is ok to look", you are in danger of loosing your salvation if you haven't already. Jesus said to lust after someone, is to commit the act!
Rom 8:5-8 For they who are according to the flesh mind the things of flesh, but they who are according to the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace 7 because the carnal mind is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the Law of God, neither indeed can it be. 8 So then they who are in the flesh cannot please God.
The
carnal (sinful) mind, not only the act is enmity (or an enemy) against God!
The sinful mind is not subject to God! It cannot be. Why? Because sin
separates us from God. So, if your
thoughts are sin laden, then it becomes very hard to even hear from God.
Think of it this way:
Sin is a wall between us and God. The longer we go on sinning the thicker that wall becomes. Now in the natural, which is easier to hear? Someone speaking directly in your ear, or someone speaking to you from behind a brick wall?
The sinful mind brings death. If this type of person was an
unbeliever, it would not be a carnal mind that brings death, it would
be their not accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior.
A sinful mind is the
same thing as being in the flesh( verses 5 and 8). If you are in the
flesh, you cannot be pleasing to God. You cannot be a mouth piece for God to speak through,
if you are in sin, though you are a believer. God may use you to bring
about His Glory... but you are not being used of God,
you are being used by Him. There is a difference. Pray about it.
The Word says That:
2Th 2:3 Do not let anyone deceive you in any way, because that Day will not come unless first comes the falling away, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,
